With a rhythmic beat-beat-beat of drums, a
roaring rah-rah-rah, and a rousing sis-boom-bah the AR
Express marched through Rockfish Elementary School with the award winning
Marching Tigers, varsity cheerleaders, and football team from South View Senior
High School. With the strut and stride of pride, triumphant students from
grades 2 through 5, who met their Accelerated Reading goals for the first nine
weeks, boarded the Express for a parade through the school and onto the
school grounds. Once outside, 200 students were honored with an enthusiastic
program of lively music, energetic cheers, and snappy high-fives. Initiated by
Rockfish principal, Suzanne Owen, AR Express has become an effective
motivation to student success.
