Cumberland
County Schools has entered into a partnership with the North Carolina New
Schools Project, the Center for International Understanding, and Fayetteville
State University (FSU) to plan an early college high school that will eventually
be housed on the campus of FSU with an international studies theme. A
freshman class will be selected for the 2011-2012 school year. Students
will participate in language acquisition courses in Arabic, Mandarin, or
Spanish. Graduates of the program will
earn both a high school diploma and college credit. A transportation district
will be determined. Students selected for attendance from other areas of the
county may attend if parents provide transportation.
